Balancing Act

My first semester as a graduate student has flown by. I am teaching 65 students in three classes. I grade 130 papers and create three quizzes each week in addition to my course work as a first semester grad student. I am working on a project in Applied Regression, and a project in Advanced Mathematical Modeling -- I am modeling a tornado!! It's a lot of fun. It's very cool how the math, physics, and technology may eventually allow me to understand the dynamics of a tornado. I admit to being exhausted and a bit frazzled, but I love what I do. My students are amazing and my work is fun and interesting.

It has been tough juggling housework, my teaching obligations, my course work, my family and social obligations, and my titleholder responsibilities this semester but I know that all of this will be worth it. I'm learning how to better manage my time and I know that skill will come in handy when I'm a mom someday.

I've also made a few appearances as Mrs. Tulsa in the past few months! I judged the Ms. Senior Oklahoma pageant, and I attended the Miss Creek County (MAO) and Miss Tulsa State Fair (MAO) pageants. I met with Stacey Berry of the Sapulpa Parent Education Program to discuss fundraising for SPEP and our shared goals of helping children and families through educating parents. I took a short break from leading PREP workshops in order to focus on my studies, but I plan to get back into the swing of things next semester!

Well, I better run! I have a lot to do today! God bless!
